Jaguar I-Pace; models, specifications, features, price and range
The Jaguar I-Pace (stylised as I-PACE) is a battery-electric crossover SUV produced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) under their Jaguar marque. The I-Pace was announced in March 2018, European deliveries began in June 2018 and North American deliveries started in October 2018.
In this article Jaguar I-Pace specifications, models, features, range and its price will the discussed.
SPECIFICATIONS
The vehicle has the following specifications; The Jaguar I-Pace launched with a WLTP -rated range of 292 miles (470 km) and an EPA -rated range of 234 miles (377 km). In December 2019, software enhancements were released to increase range to an EPA -rated range of 246 miles (396 km). The car has a wade depth of 500 mm (20 in). The rear boot holds 656 liters (23 cu ft), along with 28 liters (1 cu ft) of front boot space. The drag coefficient is 0.29.
The car has all-wheel drive via two motors powered by a 90 kWh LG chem lithium-ion battery with a developed by JLR Each battery management system motor delivers 197 hp (147 kW) and 258 lb⋅ft (350 N⋅m) of torque, for a total power of 395 hp (295 kW) and total torque of 516 lb⋅ft (700 N⋅m). The 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) time is 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 124 mph (200 km/h).
The battery contains 432 pouch cells. It can charge from 0 to 80 percent in 85 minutes using 50 kW DC charging, or 45 minutes using a 100 kW charger. Home charging with an AC wall box (7 kW) achieves the same state of charge in 10 hours. As the I-Pace has a single-phase AC charger, it is slow to charge outside fast charge areas; with a one-hour charge, 7 kW charging adds around 30 km (19 miles) of range. The car comes with a smartphone app which can locate the car, report on its locking, alarming, and charging status, and start its battery preconditioning and/or cabin heating/cooling.
UPGRADE
Jaguar has graced the I-Pace with a few small yet notable updates for the 2023 model year, including the re-introduction of a performance seat option, which is available in three different colorways: Ebony, Light Oyster, or Mars Red. Additionally, the I-Pace becomes the first-ever Jaguar to feature built-in Amazon Alexa voice control. Aside from that, Jag makes wireless charging standard for the electric crossover.
MODELS
The Jaguar I-PACE comes with four distinct trims: S, SE, HSE and First Edition. All trims travel up to 234 miles and contain a 90-kWh battery and two electric motors capable of 512 pound-feet of instant torque and 392 horsepower
FEATURES
Pre-conditioning;
The battery motors work differently to traditional combustion engines, which comes as no great revelation. However, the Jaguar is able to pre-condition its battery, while plugged-in, before you get in so that the range is maximised. Think of it as the equivalent of letting a normal car warm up before setting off.
On top of that, the I-PACE will use the pre-conditioning program to bring the cabin up to a suitable temperature. Returning to a cool cabin after some shopping on a scorching summer’s day was greatly appreciate .
Pivi Pro Infotainment;
The Jaguar I-PACE is a cutting-edge vehicle that showcases the best of what the present and future has to offer. Jaguar Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment system complements the I-PACE perfectly because of how effective it is to use on a daily basis.
On the 10-inch touchscreen there is access to just about every setting and feature you can think of. The menus are easy to navigate and respond rapidly to inputs and the climate control can be adjusted to taste; with plenty of options available to tailor the temperature and flow to suit the driver and passengers.
‘Go I-PACE’ Phone App;
Weirdly, this is an app that is not directly used with the vehicle. Jaguar’s ‘Go I-PACE’ app allows users to get a good idea of how feasible it would be to live with an electric vehicle by monitoring their journey throughout an average week.
The idea is that the app will tell the user how many times they will need to charge throughout the week and then make route recommendations to maximise the range of the car. Most importantly, however, it will tell the user how much money can be saved by making the switch to an I-PACE. We appreciate this app because it takes the guess work out of buying an electric vehicle, making for a more informed decision.
The PACE;
This is probably the most childish feature of the I-PACE that we have decided to highlight, but we do not care because this all-electric SUV is one of the most rapid vehicles we have driven.
395bhp and 500lb ft are the headline numbers, which despite the I-PACE weighing over two tons, propels this SUV from 0 to 60mph in just 4.5 seconds. Perhaps the most breath-taking element is that the I-PACE pulls savagely from any speed as soon as you plant the accelerator. It is amazingly good fun and certainly led to a few surprises for sportier cars we encountered on our travels!
New Levels of Satellite-Navigation;
Range anxiety is an issue that is consistently voiced when electric vehicles are concerned. Traditionally, a satellite-navigation system will tell you your estimated time of arrival and how many miles are remaining.
However, the I-PACE appreciates that range anxiety may be an issue and will use data to give you an estimate of how much range will be remaining once you have arrived at your destination. If it does not think you will make it there, then it will recommend charging points that are along the route. Simple, yet effective.
RANGE
Jaguar I-PACE has a certified WLTP range of 470km (292 miles)
PRICE
The Jaguar I-PACE has a RRP range of £66,350 to £77,650. However, on carwow prices for a new Jaguar I-PACE start at £61,066 if paying cash or £792 if paying monthly – saving on average £4,414. The price of a used Jaguar I-PACE on carwow starts at £37,900.
CONCLUSION
Jaguar have excelled themselves with the production of the all-electric I-PACE, which reflects in the ever-growing number of positive reviews and accolades it receives. The features mentioned above are only scratching the surface of what the I-PACE is capable of; but having spent only the weekend in one, we were incredibly impressed with the forward-thinking nature of its design.
I appreciate the balance and fairness in your writing. Great job!
