TeslaS_Q222_Site_Hero

The Tesla Model S is a battery electric full-size luxury sedan with a liftback body style built by Tesla, Inc. since 2012. The Model S features a battery-powered dual-motor, all-wheel drive layout, although earlier versions featured a rear-motor and rear-wheel drive layout. Tesla Model S is built from the ground up as an electric vehicle, with a high-strength architecture and floor-mounted battery pack for incredible occupant protection and low rollover risk. Every new Model S includes Tesla’s latest active safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, at no extra cost. Model S is built for speed and range, with beyond ludicrous acceleration, unparalleled performance and a refined design.

After Tesla model X, Tesla released another crossover, the Model Y, in 2020. The Model Y was smaller and less expensive than the Model X and shared many of the same parts with the Model 3. Sales of the Model Y quickly became comparable to that of the Model 3, and Elon Musk expressed confidence that it would become Tesla’s best-selling model.

MODELS OF TESLA MODEL S

SPECIFICATIONS OF TESLA MODEL S

The Tesla Model S is a great four-door luxury sports car that just also happens to be an electric vehicle. A large, low-slung hatchback, it easily seats five, or seven in a pinch when fitted with rear-facing jump seats.

The Tesla Model S is a battery electric full-size luxury sedan with a liftback body style built by Tesla, Inc. since 2012. The Model S features a battery-powered dual-motor, all-wheel drive layout, although earlier versions featured a rear-motor and rear-wheel drive layout.

With its optional 85 kWh battery, the Tesla can travel between 180 and 225 miles per charge, at least twice as far as other electrics. It can also be fully charged in as little as five hours. Performance is exceptional, with thrilling acceleration, pinpoint handling, and a superb ride. A huge iPad-like center screen controls nearly all accessory functions. The Tesla Model S currently comes in two different AWD trims – a dual-motor Long Range and the tri-motor Plaid.

The newly refreshed Model S Long Range offers an EPA estimated range of 405 miles, can hit a top speed of 155 mph and can travel 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

The previously available Performance trim of the Model S was dropped when the EV saw a refresh from Tesla in 2021. It has since been replaced by the highly anticipated Plaid tri-motor powertrain. This version travels an EPA estimated 396 miles on a single charge and can hit a top speed of 200 mph. Additionally, the Plaid Model S can zoom from 0-60 in 1.99 seconds.

PRICE OF TESLA MODEL S

Used Tesla’s start at about the £35,000 mark, for early, high mileage cars. That some are in the classifieds with as much as 100,000 miles, and more, underlines that these are cars that you can wind serious mileages on.”

The Long Range Model S is the lower-priced of the two versions currently available. This dual motor AWD trim starts at a purchase price of $89,990 and can go as high as 108,990 all in.

This higher price includes all available add-ons such as red paint, custom interior, and FSD capabilities. It also includes 21″ Arachnid Wheels, which bring the EV’s estimated range down to 375 miles.

The Plaid Model S begins at a purchase price of $129,990 with white exterior paint and zero upgrades. If you were to add every available feature listed above, the Plaid can go as high as $148,990.

Again it’s important to note that the Arachnid Wheels upgrade will not only cost $4,500 but will also lower the Plaid’s estimated range to 348 miles.

All in all, you can get yourself a newly refreshed Model S for $90,000 minimum and can go all in on a souped-up Plaid for $149K. Either way, you may have to wait a bit longer for delivery, especially on the Long Range Model S.

If that’s too much money, you may be able to find a cheaper Model S for sale near you.

Most of those cars come with free Supercharging, too, so running costs will be negligible. Having been on sale since 2014 in the UK there’s a decent used stock to pick from, with the £40,000-£50,000 range providing rich pickings for the canny used buyer.
